From Fear to Faith: Embracing Digital Marketing as a Pastor's Wife

As the wife of a pastor, a preacher in my own right, an international bestselling author, mother of seven, and proud grandmother of four, you might think I have it all together. However, beneath the surface, I was wrestling with a fear that felt suffocating—fear of what my Christian friends might think of me engaging in the world of digital marketing. This trepidation was enough to keep me from stepping into a space teeming with potential for growth, not just for myself but for countless others in my sphere of influence.

The irony of my situation wasn’t lost on me. Here I was, equipped with a wealth of experience and knowledge, yet paralyzed by what others might say or think. I knew that sharing my passion for content creation—whether it was crafting eBooks, developing engaging courses, designing marketing materials, or writing captivating social media posts—could genuinely help others. But, fear clouded my judgment and held me back.

Recognising the Fears

1. Identify the Source: It’s essential to pinpoint what triggers your fear. For me, it revolved around the fear of judgment and misunderstanding from my peers and church community. Acknowledging these concerns was the first step.

2. Challenge Negative Thoughts: I had to confront the negative assumptions I held about how others would perceive my endeavors. Was I really in danger of losing the respect of my friends? Or could I instead inspire them with my passion?

3. Reframe with Faith: It was time to shift my focus from fear to faith. I began to meditate on scriptures like Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” This became my anchor, reminding me that my ability to venture into new territory comes from a higher source.

With prayer as my guide, I took a leap of faith. I shared my journey openly and, to my surprise, received an outpouring of support from my community. Friends I thought might judge me stepped forward to encourage me instead. I realized that many of them faced similar fears and praised my courage for stepping into the unknown.

Having taken this leap, I founded DiversiWealth, where I could combine my passion for digital marketing and content creation with my faith. Here, I am empowered to create transformational resources—be it courses that enlighten, flyers that promote, creating websites, or eBooks that educate. My heart is in serving others and helping them grow, just as I have.
