Part Two: The Strange Fires At The Gates

The Hour We Are In

We are living in a time where the lines between truth and deception are being blurred like never before. The atmosphere over our land feels charged — not only with a hunger for revival but also with the rise of counterfeit fires that masquerade as the real.

What we allow through the gates of our nation and our churches today will shape the inheritance we leave for generations to come. This is not the hour for passivity. It is the hour to awaken, to discern, and to guard the flame of the Holy Spirit with everything we have.

Many are hungry for God, but without being rooted in His Word, His Cross, and His ways, they have become vulnerable to another fire — a fire that promises power but does not come from God.

Deception At The Gates

What has been allowed through the gates of our nation is now seeping into the gates of the church. This is not just about one event happening in New Zealand. No — this has been building for some time. Strategically. Subtly. Cunningly.

It has been recruiting, gathering an army clothed not in darkness but in light — borrowing the language of “presence” and “power,” promising freedom, yet binding hearts in chains.

It does not only march in rebellion but in imitation. It mimics revival. It looks like fire. It feels like power. But it is not the fire of God. It is strange fire.

A Vision of Two Fires

Recently, as I saw a picture of a ring of fire around New Zealand, the Spirit gave me a vision of two fires burning across our land.

  • The First Fire

    • Roaring, massive, red and orange flames.

    • Drawing crowds from every direction.

    • Promising revelation and power.

    • Yet within the blaze, I saw the blurred face of the enemy. This was not the fire of the Holy Spirit but the strange fire of deception. It dazzles the eyes, but it leads to bondage and destruction.

  • The Second Fire

    • Small, flickering like a blue flame.

    • Humble, quiet, without spectacle.

    • Yet it carried the purity and holiness of God’s presence. Like Moses before the burning bush, those who draw near must remove their shoes, for it is holy ground.

    • This fire may not gather the multitudes in the same way, but it will raise a holy people who burn with the Spirit of God.

This is the hour of discernment. Will we be seduced by the spectacle of strange fire, or will we bow before the refining flame of His holy presence?

The Ancient Spirit Returns with Vengeance

The so-called “new age” is not new at all. It is the same ancient occult spirit, now clothed in Christian language, returning with vengeance in this generation.

  • Tarot cards are renamed “prophetic tools.”

  • Crystals are called “God’s energy.”

  • Eastern meditation is rebranded as “Christian mindfulness.”

  • Energy healings masquerade as deliverance.

  • Manifestations of power take place without bowing to the Cross.

It whispers “Jesus,” but it is not Yeshua the Messiah of the Cross. It offers healing, freedom, and breakthrough — but its source is demonic.

This is why we must be alert. I am aware of gatherings rising in Aotearoa, but these are not isolated events. They are part of a larger tide of strange fire sweeping through the gates of our nation. Unless we discern, many will be swept into its blaze.

⚠️ The counterfeit fire of revival is here.

A Wake-Up Call to the Church

My brothers and sisters in Christ in Aotearoa, New Zealand — this is a call to awaken. To guard the gates. To cling to what is holy and refuse what is counterfeit.

  • We must return to the Word of God as our plumbline.

  • We must test the spirits (1 John 4:1).

  • We must embrace the true fire of His presence, even if it is smaller, quieter, and costs us everything.

The strange fire is seductive, but the holy fire is refining. One entertains. The other transforms.

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire.” (Hebrews 12:28–29)

Conclusion

New Zealand, the choice is before us. Two fires are burning. One dazzles but deceives. The other purifies and sanctifies. One will gather crowds. The other will raise a remnant.

The gates of our nation are being tested. The call is clear: Guard the gates. Cling to the Cross. Choose the holy fire.

Let Pray

Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before You as Your people in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
We humble ourselves under Your mighty hand and acknowledge You as the only true God, the One who answers by fire.

Lord, we repent for where we have opened doors to mixture, compromise, or counterfeit power. Forgive us for chasing the spectacular more than Your presence, and for choosing comfort over the Cross. Cleanse our hearts, our pulpits, and our altars.

We ask You now, Holy Spirit, to awaken discernment in Your church. Sharpen our eyes to see, our ears to hear, and our spirits to test what is holy and what is counterfeit. Expose every deception that masquerades as light. Let every strange fire be revealed and uprooted from our land.

God, raise up a holy remnant who will burn with the fire of Your presence — a people who bow low before You in reverence and awe. Strengthen our leaders with boldness to guard the flock, to preach uncompromised truth, and to confront deception with love and authority.

We declare over this nation: New Zealand shall be marked by the holy fire of God, not strange fire. Our gates will be guarded. Our inheritance will not be stolen. Our future generations will know the true power of the Cross and the purity of Your Spirit.

Lord, let Your consuming fire fall again — the fire that purifies, revives, and awakens. Burn away every counterfeit, and let Your glory shine from the ends of the earth.

In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen.
